Piano Specialist- K-12 & Teacher Outreach Focus

Willis Music of Cincinnati is growing! We are currently seeking a motivated and energetic person to represent Steinway & Sons and Roland digital pianos to a very specific clientele. Willis Music has been known in Cincinnati for over 125 years for being dedicated to education and providing the highest quality in goods and services.

Position Notes:

  • This is a Part Time (starting) position with growth opportunity.
  • Approx. 25 hours per week, Saturday in store will be required.
  • This position is 60-70% out of the store. Reliable transportation and a license are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Institutional Sales to K-12 schools, community centers, and places of worship.
  • Creating & Growing relationships with private piano teachers and their studios.
  • Cultivating sales relationships with piano teachers and their students.
  • Host Recital Hall events (located in the store).
  • Assist in planning and hosting special events in the store.
  • Achieve personal sales goals and support the store team.
  • Learning and promoting company programs, that help customers reach their instrument goals.
  • Assist in fund-raising efforts with institutions requiring assistance.
  • Research and awareness for potential sales opportunities occurring in the market.
  • Conduct inventory assessment to support schools in managing their piano inventory.
  • Present educational groups and individuals with professional recommendations.
  • Oversea C&A piano fleet and rental program (future).

Qualifications Sought After:

  • Strong piano playing skills & confidence (degree in performance or education preferred).
  • Experience in customer service and/or sales.
  • Comfort and experience working with a luxury brand.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Experience with technology such as Apple products, MS Office, Teams, Zoom, and a CRM.
  • Charisma and confidence in speaking with customers, educators, administrators, and artists.

Training Provided:

  • In-store discussions and practice on Roland digital pianos.
  • Role-playing and selling techniques related to the piano and music industry.
  • Steinway & Sons product and sales training in Astoria, New York.
  • Using our Point-of-Sale system, CRM, and other related technologies.
  • Assessment of pianos.

Pay Structure:

  • Positions are an Hourly Rate plus commission, goal bonus, and spiffs. There is no cap on commission earnings. Mileage is paid for your travel.
